Getting started

What is AltSocial?

AltSocial is The Alternative Bank's employee advocacy platform. It helps employees find good bank stories, share the ones they genuinely believe in, and receive recognition when the impact can be verified.

Is participation compulsory?

No. Participation is voluntary. You decide what to share, when to share it, and how to express your own view.

Do I have to give AltSocial my social media password?

No. AltSocial never asks for your social media password or your core banking credentials. You post directly on the social platform, then return with a public proof link where required.

Points and rewards

How are points earned?

Points are earned from verified actions such as submitting a valid live post link, generating qualified tracked clicks, and driving attributed campaign conversions where a campaign has conversion tracking installed.

When do points become available?

Some points may appear as pending first. They become redeemable after review confirms that the post is live, the link is valid, the activity is not duplicated, and the reward rule applies.

What can stop points from being released?

Invalid proof links, deleted posts, private or restricted posts, duplicate shares, repeated self-clicks, suspicious traffic, or posts that do not match the selected platform can be rejected or capped.

How do I earn more?

Share stories that fit your audience, add your own thoughtful opening line, keep the tracked link visible, choose the best platform for the message, and submit proof quickly after publishing.

Leaderboard and badges

How is the leaderboard calculated?

The leaderboard ranks employees by qualified season points. Verified post proof, qualified clicks, conversions, and approved reward releases contribute. Pending or rejected rewards do not count as final leaderboard value.

What does Normalised ranking mean?

Normalised ranking is designed to make comparisons fairer across teams of different sizes. It looks at team activity relative to participation rather than simply rewarding the largest department.

How do streaks work?

Streaks count consecutive active days. A successful daily sign-in keeps your active-day streak alive, while verified advocacy actions help unlock stronger achievement badges.

How do badges work?

Badges recognise milestones such as first proof, proof-backed shares, active streaks, tracked clicks, conversions, and lifetime qualified points.

Proof and attribution

What is proof?

Proof is the public link to the post you published on a social platform. It lets admins confirm that the share is real before points are released.

What are tracked links?

Tracked links are short AltSocial links that record views and clicks before sending people to the destination page. This helps attribute attention back to the employee, post, platform, and campaign.

How are conversions counted?

A conversion is counted when a campaign destination page fires the AltSocial conversion pixel after a visitor arrives through a tracked link. Examples include a lead, registration, account opening, or funded account event.

What is the attribution window?

The attribution window is the period during which a click can be connected to a campaign outcome. The default is 30 days from click unless a campaign defines a different window.

Ledger and fairness

What does immutable ledger mean?

AltSocial uses an append-only points ledger: credits, pending credits, releases, clawbacks, and gift-card deductions are recorded as evidence instead of quietly rewriting old balances.

Is it literally blockchain?

It works like blockchain evidence in the important sense: every reward movement has a traceable record, reason, actor, timestamp, and source event. The app keeps this audit trail in the platform database rather than using a public cryptocurrency network.

Can reward decisions be appealed?

Yes. If a proof is rejected, the reason appears on your dashboard. You can resubmit a corrected link or use the appeal link to ask Admin to review the decision.
